5 Bathroom Habits You Need To Break

1. Your toilet has become a trash can

Materials that aren’t thin like toilet paper can easily clog your toilet. So, when things like wet wipes, feminine products, or paper towels end up int he toilet.

2. You treat your bathroom like a sauna

It’s hard to beat a long, hot shower after a hard day at work (unless it’s the summer that is). Unfortunately, all that steam can lead to a ton of issues, including mold and mildew growth. This is why exhaust fans are so important — they filter the air out of your shower — cracking open a window can work as well.

3. You don’t clean your hair from the drain after you shower.

If you can’t remember the last time you whipped away your hair from your shower drain, then there’s a good possibility your hair is clogging your pipes. Over time, the combination of hair, dirt, and soap scum is bound to create a blockage. If the water ends up at your ankles when you’re showering, it’s time to call a plumber.

4. You still have hard water.

If your hair and skin feel dry after you wash your face, hands, or take a shower, then your house has hard water. This means, before your water leaves your pipes, it comes in contact with rocks and soil, increasing the mineral content in the water and over time, causes corrosion.

5. You use liquid drain cleaners.

Liquid drain cleaners are filled with chemicals that can be extremely harmful to your plumbing system (not to mention our environment). Instead of using store-bought liquid drain cleaners, use a natural alternative instead, or call a professional like Blue Mountain to help!
