Prepping Your Home for Memorial Day Weekend

Posted on May 19th, 2016 by BlueMountain

T-minus one week before Memorial Day weekend! Since Memorial Day kicks off the start to summer, we love having outdoor gatherings and pool parties. But before you welcome your guests, take some time this weekend to get a few last minute tasks done around the house:

Clean Your Glass
Make your home look spotless by cleaning up the windows and glass table tops. Use a squeegee for your windows and a little elbow grease to make sure they shine. Use your favorite formula to clean your glass table and top it off with vinegar to prevent streaks. Your friends will be impressed!

Plant Flowers
Nothing says summer more than colorful blooms in the garden, If you haven’t done so already, take some time this weekend to plant some flowers for your guests to admire. You’ll also be ready to jump start into summer when Memorial Day arrives!

Update Home Protection Devices
With all the cooking you’ll be doing next week, plan to check your smoke detector and carbon monoxide batteries. Replace if needed to keep your friend and family safe.

Fix Leaks
Don’t let plumbing issues ruin your Memorial Day weekend. Fix those pending leaks you haven’t gotten around to yet by calling your local, professional plumbing company. Whether it be a leaky kitchen or bathroom faucet or shower, leaks can waste money and worsen the more it’s used.
