Posted on November 6th, 2015 by BlueMountain
It’s that time of year again–it’s time to get your furnace ready for the winter! One of the best ways you can do this is by scheduling a furnace tune up with Blue Mountain Plumbing, Heating and Cooling. However, there are also a few things you can do to get your furnace in tip top shape.
Change the Air Filter
Be sure to change the air filter in your furnace each month or as needed. After all, a clogged or dirty air filters will only inhibit air flow. A new, clean air filter will help your furnace operate at peak efficiency.
Clear The Area Near Your Furnace
Your furnace needs some room to breathe. Remove any items that are near your furnace; especially flammable materials. Never put an item on top of your furnace.
Have a Carbon Monoxide Detector Installed
Furnaces can leak carbon monoxide. This gas can be deadly to your health. To prevent a carbon monoxide leak, have carbon monoxide detectors installed. If you already have carbon monoxide detectors, remember to change their batteries.
Fall is the perfect time of year to have your furnace serviced. Have you scheduled your annual furnace inspection with Blue Mountain Plumbing, Heating and Cooling? If not, give us a call at 877-280-5777 to schedule an appointment.
